In 2000, CJTS-FM Lethbridge was granted a specialty license, to play Christian music, on 97.1 MHz with 50 watts. The station signed on two weeks later, on December 14th. In 2006, owner Terry Robert Fleming (Spirit Broadcasting) sold the station to Golden West, who were given a power increase to 20,000 watts on 98.1 MHz. They also relocated the transmitter, increased the antenna height to 174.3 metres, and, in 2007, changed call letters to CKVN-FM.
In 2006, Rogers received CRTC approval to acquire the Alberta stations of O.K. Radio Group Ltd: CHDI-FM and CKER-FM Edmonton; CJOK-FM and CKYX-FM Fort McMurray; and CFGP-FM Grande Prairie.
