More Rogers Cuts

Management at Rogers has taken a good, hard-working person and shoved him out the door after 35 years.
Terry Chan was invaluable there, and genuinely a nice guy.

Sad to hear that Terry has been shown the door, always thought he was one of the nicer people to work with on Ash Street during my time in the Rogers bunker.

Listening to 1130 over the past few days and have noticed their Business segments have been reduced to a Bloomberg piece followed by current market numbers read by the local anchor. Were the few remaining Business reporters (Chris McCusker, Mike Epel and Ari Robinovich) also let go last week?

In Calgary, 660News is doing the same thing as 1130 in Vancouver -- market recap and the syndicated Bloomberg spot. With 660, it seems the business update is now airing at :28 and :58 and, at least in the time I am listening (5:30 to 6:30 AM), they no longer do the travelers weather or regional weather update before the top of the hour. They also have a canned recording for the station ID that they play prior to top of the hour. 660 is using Michael Kuss for weather updates, and the announcer doing traffic (and weather when Kuss is not available), also does sports.

As for Business Update talent, it does not appear that Eppel has been let go, he is still filing reports that are heard at other points in the half-hour, but Eppel and Rabinovich bios are not showing on the 680 website, McCusker's bio is still there.
