CRTC - AM To FM Flip Approved For CKDQ Drumheller

Stingray Radio got the go ahead today to convert CKDQ 910 in Drumheller to 92.5 FM. The new station will operate with 36,600 watts. Antenna height will be 38.3 metreS (EHAAT) with a directional radiation pattern. The format will remain Country.

It's worth mentioning that CKDQ is the final "rural" Alberta AM station to flip to FM. All remaining AM stations in the province are located in either Edmonton or Calgary, or nearby communities such as Wetaskiwin, Camrose, and High River. Even the low power CBC transmitters in Alberta have all migrated to FM.
