The annual move to an All Christmas format is now in full swing. Traditionally, U.S. Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday was the day that Jingle Bells took over the airwaves.

This year, Mix 107.9 (CKFT) Fort Saskatchewan, AB was first out of the gate when it went All Christmas on November 1st to tie in with the launch of Rob Christie in the Morning.

On November 2nd, Rogers launched Santa Radio

Rogers Sports & Media has launched “Santa Radio” as a national streaming Christmas music brand across Canada.



The new brand is also being heard over the air on 92.3 CJET-FM Smiths Falls ON following last week’s moves that shuttered “City News 1310/101.1” CIWW Ottawa, while “Country 92.3” CKBY-FM moved to the 101.1 frequency. The “Santa Radio” brand will lead into a new format after the holidays.

What I really want to know is which station in Winnipeg will be hearing segments from the Gipp Forster Archives (besides CJNU fm on the 25th) I know CJOB traditionally has it but CFRY Portage got it last year, because to me it ain't Christmas until I hear "It's Magic and Memories"

I am really starting to hate christmas. Even on satellite radio it is getting out of hand.

Even one of my local christian radio stations, CKOE-FM in Moncton along with their sister station CJRP-FM in Saint John have switched to Christmas music 24/7, with the change occurring this past Saturday at midnight. That means at least a full month of nonstop Christmas music. CIXN-FM in Fredericton has also made the switch too, albeit about a week and a half ago.

I got my answer, 920 CFRY in Portage got it again this year, it started just after 3:40 pm central time I don't know what time yet in the morning I might not find out til next week, granted it's not the same without hearing the "ON CJOB" part of the jingle
