In 1953 at 10:00 p.m., American television programming was delivered live to Canada for the first time, with the opening of a 66 mile microwave network from Buffalo to Toronto. The first program, aired on CBLT-TV Toronto, was "Studio One" from CBS. On May 14 of the same year, the network was extended to Ottawa and Montreal, even though CBOT-TV Ottawa did not sign on until June 2nd.

In 1963, CJJC Langley signed on with 1000 watts on 850 KHz, with eight people on staff. Five Vancouver radio stations had objected at the original license hearing in Winnipeg, but the Board of Broadcast Governors (BBG) issued the license in May 1962. Owner Joe Chesney, the JC in CJJC, lost no time, clearing land for the transmitter site just three weeks later. A vacated BC TEL building was converted into studios and offices.



In 2000, CJOC Lethbridge was approved for an AM to FM flip. The station changed call letters to CJRX-FM. And operated on 106.7 MHz with 100,000 watts. Format changed from country to Classic Adult Contemporary.
