Great to see you onboard J.J. When I first came to QR in the Summer of 83, Johnnie was living in a small studio apartment and didn't have a lot of room for stuff. His golf clubs and bag had a permanent parking spot in a back corner of the QR studio at QR Centre on 9th Avenue. They didn't make the move to Palliser. Johnnie was a class act. At the yearly Christmas Party, Johnnie would show in a Tux (probably rented from Stachow's) ... He be at the door welcoming the party goers and he had roses for all the ladies. In later years, Johnnie was working evenings and about 7PM, if I was there, he'd ask if I'd was hungry and if I felt like doing a run up to Chicken On The Way to grab a couple of 3 piece dinners. Thanks to Johnnie, I'm still a COTW fan and I make a stop there whenever I'm in Calgary.
Lot's of great stories from the old QR days ... The House At Pooh Corner and Uncle Nicky's Carpets ... The home of high prices and low quality come to mind!
Welcome to Radio West J.J.!
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.
