From the Fourth of July 1988, the automated sounds of Bellingham's "Northwest Rock" KNWR 104.3 FM. The station began as KERI-FM in July 1965, becoming KNWR in late 1979. It has been known as KAFE since November 1989 moving to 104.1 in January 2010 -

KNWR lost its cable FM allotment in the Vancouver area in 1982 due to soliciting advertising from BC businesses, while attracting over 150,000 listeners according to Vancouver radio ratings at the time.
