Mike Hardy with mid-day music for the Midwest in the border city of Lloydminster, which straddles the provincial boundaries of Alberta and Saskatchewan, on 1080 CKSA.

Lucky listeners were going to enjoy some live NHL hockey that April day.

CKSA launched on April 3, 1957, first broadcasting on 1150 AM and later changed to 1080 AM in 1965. On August 29, 2003 it moved to 95.9 FM. It was rebranded as 95.9 Lloyd FM in February, 2006. CKSA rebranded as Real Country in 2016, along with other Newcap-owned country stations in Alberta.
Faster cars, younger women, older cheese, more money . . .
