When this song came out, it was all over the radio on top 40, rock and album rock formats. Certainly wasn't your typical top 40 or hot a/c sound to be played on the radio
.
Makes me wonder why there is virtually no rock on top 40 or hot a/c radio today? Over the past ten years or so, new rock on top 40 radio hot a/c has vanished. Any thoughts why this would be so? Don't buy the argument that rock isn't selling any longer. Some of it does but even if sells, doesn't seem to end up on mainstream radio other than new rock formats. The variety of music used to be one of the great strengths of top 40 radio.
When you listen to classic radio or stations like BOOM FM lots of rock gold, so top 40 radio did chart rock songs into the 1990's and even into the early 2000's but then nothing. Could this be one reason why radio is becoming less and less a destination for music for many consumers?
