Radio Sticker Of The Day - March 21

From the RadioWest.ca archives and my collection of 20,000+ window and bumper stickers from radio stations around the world, a daily look back featuring stickers from stations across Canada that no longer exist due to a call letter or frequency change, rebranding or a move from AM to FM.

For many years in the 1970's & 1980's, CKNW in Vancouver would hand out thousands of daffodils on the first day of Spring with a sponsor's sticker attached to the stem.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

For Purists in the crowd, it is worth pointing out that, in the era of this sticker, all four seasons changed on the 21st of some month.

Or so we, the General Public, thought. Now, Media outlets talk about the exact day and time of the relevant event. Yesterday, in the late afternoon in Western Canada, the Sun crossed the Equator, marking the start of Spring in North America.
