Born Michael Terry McDermott, the stage-named Michael Tarry moved from England to Canada. And had four singles on Columbia from 1969-70. Three years later, he released two more 45s on Reprise. Rosalie, the second of that pair, predated the vocal stylings of future hitmaker Chris DeBurgh, at least to my ears. Michael passed away in April 2013.

In 1973, another song called Rosalie coincidentally bowed. Written and sung by Bob Seger, it was an ode to Rosalie Tremblay, the music picker at CKLW Windsor which dominated the pop-rock airwaves of Bob's native Detroit. Released on Palladium in the U.S., the Seger 'Rosalie' was picked up by Reprise in Canada. Giving WEA staff two different Rosalies, both on Reprise Canada, to promote in the same year.
