Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1974, an early one from Ian Thomas ... "Come The Sun" ...

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Almost an Ian Thomas anniversary. On January 12, 1974 Painted Ladies peaked at #34 on the Billboard Hot 100. His one and only American chart outing. (Although hits by Ian in Canada were successfully covered by artists including Santana (Hold On), America (Right Before Your Eyes) and Manfred Mann (The Runner).

Painted Ladies got noticed (and sometimes criticized) for channeling Neil Young. To my ears, it was this followup--Come The Son--that was much closer in sound to The Loner (aka Neil). Didn't do near as well as Painted Ladies, though.
