Two of Lethbridge's radio stations will be under new ownership starting January 1st, 2019. Clear Sky Radio has sold the two stations, including another one based in Cranbrook, BC to Vista Radio.

Courtenay, British Columbia, December 17, 2018 – Vista Radio, Canada’s most innovative radio company with an independent network of 40 stations in three provinces and the Northwest Territories, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to purchase Clear Sky Radio, operator of 94.1 CJOC and 98.1 The Bridge in Lethbridge, Alberta, and Summit 107 in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

“We are thrilled to add these well-loved stations to our portfolio, and to continue to serve listeners and advertisers in these excellent markets,” said Geoff Poulton, President of Vista Radio. “Our fundamental belief is that local radio makes a difference, and we will apply that philosophy to maintain and enhance the programming for listeners in Lethbridge, Cranbrook and their surrounding regions. We value independence and the local perspective, our hyper-local approach ensures that our listeners will always know what is happening in their communities. We are proud of our track record of innovation in our programming, operations and service to communities, and look forward to applying our expertise to enhance Clear Sky’s already excellent stations.”

Every Vista station proudly serves its community with locally generated relevant content emphasizing information that impacts the local audience - news, weather, road reports and events . A core operating principle for Vista is that the stations be accessible and approachable to listeners, both in the content they deliver and how the stations operate. Vista stations support more than 10,000 community events annually and each year generate in excess of $1.6 million in donations for local charities.

Vista is a proudly independent radio operator, with increased scale and an expanded portfolio Vista will be in a better position to continue to focus on the communities where it operates and compete in an industry featuring a number of large national players. Paul Larsen, President of Clear Sky Radio said, "Based on Vista’s track record of commitment to the communities they serve we felt confident that they would continue to provide the high quality service expected and is the best fit for our employees, clients and the local community." Vista adopts a philosophy of service, recognizing the central role radio plays in the community.

In its broadcasts Vista prioritizes information on critical events like amber alerts, power outages, school closures, extreme weather and other vital information. In addition to its local focus, Vista is committed to innovation, and was the first radio broadcaster in Canada to embrace cloud based audio distribution enabling its stations to be fully controlled via mobile devices from virtually anywhere in the community.

The transaction is expected to close on December 31, 2018.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.
