Mike Cleaver: Down, but not Out

Postby jon » Fri Jul 13, 2018 2:57 pm

From Facebook, written by Mike Cleaver:
Never bought into the Friday the 13th thing....until today. 7:05 am, getting out of the car to go to the lab for another blood test and do a face plant in the middle of West Broadway at Vine. Tripped over a bump in the road. All the traffic stopped and three great Vancouver people ran to help me up and get me to the curb and call an ambulance because I had split my bottom lip and chipped two teeth. They stayed with me, helping me to clean up the blood, one of them moved my car to a safe place where it wouldn't get towed. Super service by everyone from the paramedics to the great staff at VGH, the nurses, the doc who stitched up my lip, and the pharmacist who reviewed my meds and made some suggestions for changes. In at 7:20am, out by 1pm. Say what you want about the Canadian medical system but the only charge we'll have to pay is the ambulance ride, which our private insurance covers along with the necessary dental work. What a great city we live in and people do care about each other.

I guess then, Mike, there is little chance of your making your way to the border - to claim asylum? :canflag2:
Speedy recovery.
(A short term lisp might be kinda cute - for awhile.)

So glad it was not worse!

The BC Medical system is amazing, and there's a lot of good people out there.

Get better soon, Mike.
