The two losing mainstream formats applied for when the 2012 CRTC call went out for 95.3, in Calgary, are now on the air: 97.7 taking "soft rock" proposed by Harvard (MY 95.3) and 95.3 playing Country proposed by Clear Sky (95.3 The Wolf - playing Country from the '90s to Now).
Will Wild 95.3 (formerly the Peak) be judged a success only if it splits Country 105's current 10.1 share? Or will it be enough of a success to simply exceed a 2.0 share? Yes, I know 2+ is meaningless but it's what we have available to us plebeians.
Regardless, for likely the first time since the launch of a number of stations in ~2007/08, it will be interesting to see what the Calgary numbers are in a year's time.
