CORUS is in deep trouble. Check the bottom line and the OVERHEAD, the plunging share price and the slumping ratings at their properties.

Mr. Casady is leaving the Company, while the getting is good.

I feel for the over burdened staff at these Stations and I wonder how the PD's and their consultants, keep their jobs.

The staff will get the nine of hearts and the guys that drove the car in the ditch, will make six figures.

It's crazy.

Winnipeg's longtime ratings champ has been dethroned.

CBC Radio 990 has bumped CJOB from the top spot in the spring radio ratings book, breaking a decades-long reign for the Corus-owned talk radio station. In numbers released by Numeris this week, CBC Radio edged out CJOB by four-tenths of a ratings point, 11.9 to 11.5.

Ratings for the spring book measured listeners ages 12 and older from March 2 to April 26.

It's been a years-long decline in listeners for CJOB, which once commanded ratings nearly double of what it enjoys today. And it's even worse for the advertiser-friendly 25-54 demographic, where CJOB only ranks in the middle of the pack amongst local stations. Last spring, the station dumped morning host Hal Anderson from its lineup, replacing him with a show hosted by longtime news director Richard Cloutier and Kathy Kennedy.

The news isn't any better for Corus on the FM dial, either. Following its decision in January to do away with Power 97, replacing it with 97.5 BIG FM, ratings on that Corus station continued to slide in the spring ratings book, from 2.6 last fall to 2.2.

Country music station QX 104 continues to be the top-ranked music station, edging out Virgin 103, which has a top-40 format, and rock station 92 CITI FM.

Dave Wheeler's morning show crew on CITI, meanwhile, remained the most popular morning show amongst the 25-54 demographic, followed by Ace Burpee's show on Virgin 103. CJOB's show was third.
