Dr. Dan is the guy you want to be talking to in regards to where everyone ended up. He has a weirdly encyclopedic knowledge of such matters.

I believe Dr.Dan is managing a station (or stations) on Vancouver Island.
We worked together briefly at 'XL in '71.

I'm pretty sure the 'QR old radio stuff is produced here in Vancouver and simply is picked up from the network.
I'm pretty sure it's not being done by Dr. Dan unless it's something that has recently changed.

Mike

The shows that Dan uses on QR originally came from NW.

He has been putting together and hosting "Those Old Radio Shows" on QR and CHED since about 1993 or 94.

QR and CHED have never run the shows that NW pumps out from Midnight til 3.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

But we are talking about it. Nice to see on this board. It only works if we participate or contribute, right?

I thought Karl would still be living off the royalties from Kung Fu Fighting and would never have to work again.

Whatever happened to Robin LaRose? I thought he was Rock 101's music director, and wasn't he also assistant PD at one time?

Great collection of info, Gord! CR Nichols is still heard on CHED, as you say, but he also does AM Drive News on JOE-FM. 8:30 a.m. is when I hear him each morning.

Haven't heard him lately, but Jungle Jay has done AM & PM Drive vacation fill-in at Cool-8-80 for a week or two at a time.

You've inspired me to track down John Novak to see if he has any KGA Spokane airchecks, as I listened to him there before he joined CKXL.

To add to your list, CKXL's Charlie West is currently AM Drive at SHINE-FM in Edmonton after something like 15 years at Easy Rock Edmonton, doing AM Drive.

Since we seem to be reliving the glory broadcasters of the past. How about adding to the list
Lorne Thompson (LT on 93) old CJCA
Frantic Frank Todd
And my favourite 'utility man' the late George Payne. George got called on to do everything at CJCA, from all airshifts, to news, producing football broadcasts, and of course, his time in the Flying Tiger

Then there are others.
Scott Morgan, JP Finegan, Scott Cameron (both CJCA and CHED)

Just a few to remember
