More Vancouver On Air Memories

This new section will feature many voices you heard on CFUN and CKLG in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Thanks to Radio West member and vancouver Top 40 Radio historian Larry "Firedog" Morton
for putting together and sharing these great pieces of Vancouver radio history. Rather than posting a stack of these, we'll add one a week.

Larry, like many others who were fortunate enough to have a reel to reel tape recorder (and a good supply of tapes), used to spend hours recording material off the radio. Usually it was to record the
latest hit songs (in lieu of going to Kelly's to buy a 45 for $1.05)! Along with the songs was the other stuff ... the jocks, the jingles and the commercials. This usually got edited out and tossed away.
Thankfully, some of Larry's non hit song material survived and we're able to share it with you!

As always, we are always looking for more goodies like this to share on RadioWest ... If you have an old box of reel to reel tapes, casettes, music surveys or other memorable material from any radio
station in Western Canada, don't toss it out! Let us know what you have and we'll find a good home for it! Email RadioWest.ca radiowest (at) telus.net
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.
