Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Ben McPeek, one of the founders of Nimbus9, was involved with the arrangement, and Terry Brown (later known for his work with Rush) produced.

Dave was a St. John's native and "Goodbye Mama" was in heavy Cancon rotation in the summer of '73, in EASTERN Canada.

Interesting on the mention of Ben McPeek. Until now, I only knew him as my favourite Canadian Talent Library (CTL) artist. His music was also heard at Ontario Place on Lake Ontario in the early 1970s.

Thanks to Jurgen Gothe, during his time as Librarian at CHQM, I had a lot more positive impression of CTL than others my age with a Top 40 background. Jurgen hand-picked the material, finding those album cuts that sounded best to his jazz/Top 40 ear.

Ben McPeek was a popular choice of Jurgen's, with instrumental material of the modernized Big Band approach of Toronto bands of the era. Rob McConnell's Boss Brass is probably the best known.

He was only 46 when he died in 1981.
