The only one of Tom's many finely-crafted Warners singles that charted on Billboard. Written by Harry Nilsson, 1941
likely was semi-autobiographical. Harry was born in 1941.

Initial Warners-funded single Sunny Goodge Street was released on New Syndrome in Canada. The label was co-owned by Tom and American ex-pat Jack Herschorn. Subsequent Canadian releases like 1941 came out on a blue label emblazoned with New Syndrome (in larger type) and W7 (in smaller print). Tom and New Syndrome initially signed with Warner Bros. But that large label was quickly purchased by upstart Seven Arts and renamed Warner Bros Seven Arts or W7.
