Executive producer Paul White passed earlier this year. He became famous as a fledgling Capitol Records Canada staffer for releasing early Beatles singles that were rejected by tin-eared American counterparts. George Semkiw, the engineer on this Suzanne Stevens single also died a few months ago. A truly great sound shaper, he worked wonders with numerous artists including Lou Reed, Bachman Turner Overdrive and Streetheart...to name a few.
Make Me Your Baby was co-written by a lesser known Brill Building female songsmith, Helen Miller. It was a huge hit for Barbara Lewis in 1965. Miller also co-wrote It Hurts To Be In Love which got pitched to Gene Pitney after Neil Sedeka was prevented from recording it due to behind-scenes business disputes.
