Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Shades of Alice Cooper! Lee Aaron and/or record company Attic, hired Cooper (and Pink Floyd/Peter Gabriel) producer Bob Ezrin to helm her 1985 Call Of The Wild album. Bob even guested on some cuts adding keyboard parts. Ex-Alice Cooper alum Dick Wagner (RIP) may not have played guitar, but came in as a backup vocalist. Quite a full sound on this single Barely Holdin' On.

One other Aaron-Cooper link. The singer born Karen Lynn Greening got her professional start by joining a band called Lee Aaron. She sang, played saxophone and keyboards...and ended up adopting the group name as her own after the band split. For its part, the Alice Cooper group was comprised of five musicians who all dressed, ahem, uniquely. Alice Cooper was initially an amorphous concept shared collectively.

But as time passed, and Bob Ezrin-produced hits grew, lead vocalist Vince Furnier increasingly made it apparent onstage and in interviews that he was Alice Cooper. It was among the irritants ticking off the other four original members, all of whom soon left. Guitarist Wagner was in the next version of Alice Cooper. So were two Canadians, drummer Pentti 'Whitey' Glan (RIP) and bassist Prakash John.

Back to Lee Aaron. She keeps very busy on the retro circuit, especially festivals highlighting thrash-metal favourites of yore. This summer saw her billed on European as well as North American multi-performer events.
