To my ears, nothing will ever top Dig A Hole, the pulsating single from Hans Staymer Band's debut 1972 album. That disc featured two late, great Vancouver luminaries: keyboardist Robbie King (who also co-produced with Don Hamilton) and bassist-pianist Doug Edwards. Saxophonist Wayne Kozak, guitarist Eddie Patterson and drummer Paul Burton rounded out the group behind harmonica wielding Hans. The record came out in North America and certain international countries on New York-based GSF Records.

Three years later, Hans Staymer Band issued the single Hello Central from their 1975 followup album. Like the first long player, it was also eponymously titled Hans Staymer Band. This one, released on RCA, was wholly produced by Don Hamilton. It saw Geoff Eyre take over the drummer's seat vacated by Burton. Eyre added backup vocals with, among other support singers, Joani Taylor and Jane Mortifee.

I believe the producer, Don Hamilton, that Richard mentioned was CKLG Boss Jock Don Stevens. Prior to arriving at CKLG, Don Stevens was Don Hamilton at Edmonton's 630 CHED.

Hamilton changed his name to Stevens when he arrived at CKLG because the GM at CKLG was also a Don Stevens.

Over the years a number of Vancouver DJ's produced material for several Vancouver bands of the day.
