Bob Hall died at his home in Salmon Arm at the age of 73. He began in radio at CJAV in Port Alberni in 1949, moving to CHWK Chilliwack in 1951. The next year, he was News and Sports Director at CKOV Kelowna, leaving in 1965, when he, with partner and CKOV co-worker
Walter Gray, received radio licenses for Salmon Arm and Revelstoke.
CKXR opened on November 18th on 580 KHz with 1000 watts and
CKCR Revelstoke on November 21st on 1340 KHz with 250 watts.

Daryl Duke died in West Vancouver at the age of 77. It took a lengthy legal battle for CanWest to finally wrestle control of the station from Daryl and partners in 1988. It all hinged on a $8 million loan in 1982 that included an option for CanWest to buy all of Daryl and partners' shares.
