In 1957, CKEK Cranbrook signed on to 570 KHz with 1000 watts. The CRTC approved the station's purchase of CJAT AM & FM Trail on July 24, 1972.

In 1973, CJRB in Boissevain, Manitoba, signed on to 1220 KHz. The station was owned by Golden West.

In 1993, CJOR was approved by the CRTC to move to FM. But this is a different CJOR than the one that existed in Vancouver. CJOR-1 Oliver became CJOR-FM on 102.9 MHz with 58 watts. It totally rebroadcast CJOR-AM Osoyoos, which, in turn, broadcast some programming from CKOK Penticton.

Also in 1993, CIFJ-AM Fort St. James was approved to move to FM on 92.7 MHz with 42 watts. CIFJ was a rebroadcaster of CIRX-FM Prince George.

This day in 1999 has a long list of CRTC decisions:

CJEL-FM Winkler (Manitoba) was approved by the CRTC, as an FM sibling for CKMW-AM, also owned by Golden West Broadcasting. CJEL signed on as The Eagle in 2000, with 100,000 watts on 93.5 MHz.

Golden West was approved for an FM specialty license in Moose Jaw, on 93.7 MHz with 100,000 watts. Golden West also owned CHAB-AM in Moose Jaw. They were granted a second FM in Moose Jaw on May 15, 2006.

CKTA Taber (Alberta) was approved to move from 1570 KHz with 10,000 watts to 93.3 MHz with 50,000 watts, as CHHK-FM. The next year, owner Monarch Broadcasting was purchased by Jim Pattison. CHHK effectively became a Lethbridge station when they moved studios and offices to there in 2002. Today they are CJBZ-FM.

CKRD-AM Red Deer was approved to move to FM, as CHUB-FM on 105.5 MHz with 100,000 watts.

CJXX-AM Grande Prairie was approved for a move to FM, on 93.1 MHz with 100,000 watts.
