In 1924, the first Radio broadcast of a political convention occurred when the Republicans convened in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1983, Johnny Bench, catcher for the Cincinnati Reds, announced his plans to retire from baseball. As well as business ventures, he became a baseball sportscaster for CBS Radio.

In 2005, CHAT-1270 Medicine Hat (Alberta) was approved by the CRTC for a move to FM, on 94.5 MHz with 100,000 watts. The move occurred on January 9, 2006. Despite applying for a broadcasting license in the 1930s, J.H. Yuill's application was shelved at the onset of World War II. He reapplied in 1945, was issued a license, and signed CHAT on for the first time on November 1, 1946, with 1000 watts on 1270 KHz. The station was sold to Jim Pattison in 2000.
