In 1967, British pirate radio station Radio 355 shut down forever, though sources dispute whether the date was August 3rd, 4th, 5th (just after midnight on the 4th) or 6th. The station replaced Middle of the Road (MoR) Britain Radio earlier in the year, on the same frequency, from the same 55,000 watt transmitter on the same ship, the Olga Patricia. Britain Radio had signed on June 19, 1966. A second tower on the same ship broadcast Radio England on 227 metres; as the name implies, Radio 355 was on 355 metres.



In 1994, CIBN-AM was approved by the CRTC to move to FM, on 89.3 MHz with 38 watts. The Aboriginal station operates in Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan. As of 1994, 42 hours per week is local programming, with the remaining 126 hours from the Natotawin Broadcasting network. Of those weekly hours, 10 are in Cree or Dene, with the remaining 158 hours in English. The station had previously carried CKRW Whitehorse, CIRK-FM Edmonton and CFMI-FM Vancouver before they gained access to the Natotawin Broadcasting network. CIBN-AM began in 1981 with 50 watts, but was continually running into signal issues on 1450 KHz.



In 2006, JelloBoi, a DJ on Internet-based Radio KOL (Kingdom of Loathing), staged a huge giveaway to celebrate his first anniversary with the station. His unusual approach for gathering items to give away was to get listeners and other DJs to donate them.
