In 1975, CKWL-920 Williams Lake and CKCQ-570 Quesnel were authorized by the CRTC to swap frequencies. The stations had first signed on in 1960 and 1957, respectively. Williams Lake was originally CKCQ-1, a full-time rebroadcaster of CKCQ, and the pair laid claim to being "Canada's only full-time privately operated radio network".



In 1982, CBX-FM Edmonton was authorized by the CRTC to move to 90.9 MHz from the 93.3 MHz home it had occupied since original sign on in 1978.

In 1987, CFQX-FM Winnipeg (Selkirk) was authorized by the CRTC to change ownership, one of many in its history. But this approval was different as the CRTC also approved a power increase from 35,000 watts to 100,000 watts, new transmitter location and frequency change from 92.9 MHz to 104.1 MHz.

In 1996, STAR-FM was approved by the CRTC to move its Abbotsford transmitter (CFSR-FM) to the CBC tower on Mount Seymour in North Vancouver. Power was reduced from 16,000 to 15,000 watts and a 890 watt fill-in transmitter (CFSR-FM-1) was added at the current Abbotsford transmitter site. Both were to operate on 104.9 MHz. But, before the change was actually made on August 18, 1997, the Abbotsford fill-in transmitter was granted a frequency change to 92.5 MHz.
