In 1994, CFGP-AM Grande Prairie was approved by the CRTC to be sold by Rogers to CKER Edmonton (O.K. Radio). Just over 18 months later, CKER received approval from the CRTC to switch CFGP to FM, on 97.7 MHz with 70,000 watts.
In 2005, Newcap Alberta opened its new Edmonton studios and administration offices in West Edmonton Mall. Initially, on-air studios of CKRA-FM (then 96X), CIRK-FM (then K-Rock), CFCW-AM Camrose, and the Cat Country network were situated there.

In 2015, Calgary's first new AM station in 31 years hit the air. Touch Canada's Christian formatted CJLI 700 (The Light) saw the light of day after several years of transmitter site relocations and delays.
