In 2003, at 12 noon, CKVX-FM, with its three transmitters in Vancouver, Chilliwack and Abbotsford, switched from Christmas FM to 104.9 Clear FM, initially combining light Adult Contemporary with Smooth Jazz. The call letters followed suit the next April, becoming CKCL-FM. In November 2009, the station acquired the CFUN call letters and became known as FUN FM 104.9, but then switched to Sonic 104.9 on August 17, 2011.



In 2005, at 12 noon, Newcap's CHNR-FM Winnipeg (The Breeze) became CKFE "Cafe 100.7" with an Adult Album Alternative format. CHNR was approved for then owner CKVN Winnipeg on August 8, 2002, with 1300 watts on 100.7 MHz, with a format combining Adult Standards and Easy Listening from the 1920s to the '70s. On December 6, 2007, the station was authorized to increase power to 60,200 watts and antenna height to 176.1 metres from a new transmitter location. Today, CFJL-FM is owned by Evanov and branded as 100.7 Lite and Refreshing.

Also in 2005, CIQX-FM Calgary dropped "The Breeze" and became "California 103 FM", combining Adult Contemporary and Smooth Jazz. The station originally signed on August 30, 2001, at 1:03 p.m. and was owned by Telemedia. Today, the station is CFXL-FM, XL 103, owned by Newcap.

In 2010, both KJR-FM Seattle and CHIQ-FM Winnipeg switched to Oldies, as Oldies 95.7 and FAB 94.3, respectively. Three months earlier, CFRW-AM Winnipeg abandoned the format; up until 1975, CHIQ-FM was CFRW-FM. CFRW AM & FM originally signed on as CJQM AM & FM in 1963, cloned after CHQM Vancouver. Meanwhile, in Seattle, KJR-FM joined KVI-AM in an Oldies format that KVI had only gone back to in early November. KJR-FM originally signed on May 25, 1960, as KGMJ-FM, sister station of KGMI-FM Bellingham, whose call letters were an anagram of the owner's automation firm, IGM (International Good Music).



In 2012, CFWD-FM in Saskatoon became 96.3 CRUZ FM, playing Oldies from the '70s to early this century. The previous Wired contemporary hits format had shut down on November 15th and been replaced with Christmas music. The station originally signed on April 9, 2008, stunting with Christmas music as Santa-FM.

In 2013, CHFM-FM in Calgary switched from Lite to KiSS 95.9, but stuck with the same soft Adult Contemporary music and announcers. The station originally signed on in 1962.

Also in 2013, CHFT-FM in Fort McMurray switched from K-Rock to 100.5 CRUZ FM at 10:00 a.m., playing Top 40 music that had charted in the '70s, '80s and '90s. On air personnel were not announced until January 6th. The station originally signed on June 6, 2008 with 25,000 watts.

In 2018, Stingray flipped CHLG 104.3 Vancouver (LG 104.3) and CKRA 96.3 Edmonton (Capital FM) from Classic Hits to Soft A/C and rebranded both stations as "The Breeze".
