In 1974, CFRW AM & FM were sold by Jim Pattison to CHUM, a sale approved by the CRTC on July 5th. The stations began their life as CJQM AM & FM on November 1, 1963, using what was rumoured to be Bellingham-based International Good Music's (IGM) Serial #000000005 automation machine. The machine ran tapes of music and voice-tracks produced by CHQM in Vancouver, in an attempt to clone CHQM's success. Failure came quickly, and IGM #5 was sent to Vancouver to eliminate the costs of Operators while providing most non-simulcast programming for CHQM-FM. Failure came even more quickly in Vancouver, and an Operator was assigned 5 minutes into the first day. As for CJQM, it was sold, became CFRW but later went bankrupt. Jim Pattison bought the station on March 30, 1970. The CFRW call letters were restored to the AM in 2003.

In 1978, CBKRT-TV Regina became CBKT and CBKMT-TV Moose Jaw CBKT-1. The tale begins on July 18, 1969, when CHAB Ltd. had its application rejected to sell CHAB-TV Moose Jaw and CHRE-TV Regina to Western Broadcast Management. In 1968, the CRTC had given Moffat Broadcasting one year to sell the television stations or have their licenses cancelled. Exactly one year later, on July 18, 1969, the CRTC forced their sale to the CBC. On September 3, 1969, CHAB-TV became CBKMT and CHRE-TV became CBKRT.
In 1995, CHPQ Parksville was approved by the CRTC to move from 1370 KHz to 1350 KHz, and increase power from 1000 watts to 10,000 watts. The station moved to FM on January 14, 2002, as CIBH-FM on 88.5 MHz with 960 watts. The AM station finally went silent February 22, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. It had originally signed on December 7, 1973, owned by and partially simulcasting CHUB Nanaimo.
In 1998, CKBD-600 Vancouver switched from Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) to Adult Standards. The station began as CFXC in 1923, owned by Hume and Rundle, an electrical store in New Westminster. It had 10 watts and transmitted on 440 metres. George and Art Chandler bought the station on July 13, 1926, moved it to Vancouver and were issued a new license as CJOR. By this time, it had 20 watts on 1030 KHz. It moved to its current 600 KHz home in October 1933 with 500 watts. George Chandler was sole owner by the time he passed away in 1965, and Jim Pattison acquired the station from his widow. The call letters changed to CHRX on September 2, 1988, and CKBD on January 9, 1994. The station moved to FM, as CKPK-FM The Peak, in 2008.
