
In 2006, Sid Boyling passed away at the age of 92. Born in Moose Jaw, he was a volunteer when he signed on 10AB in 1931 as a non-commercial community radio station on 1200 KHz. 10AB signed off November 11, 1933, but was replaced by CHAB on December 17th of the same year, as a commercial station, with Sid one of the announcers hired Day One. In 1956, he became Station Manager for CHAB-TV. In 1969, he moved to cable, as VP/GM of Winnipeg Videon until he retired 10 years later.
