After doing Graphic Art for CJLH-TV Lethbridge, CFQC-TV Saskatoon and CBXT-TV Edmonton, Jerry McLaughlin spent 7 years (1965-72) at CBUT-TV in Vancouver. Based on the content, I would estimate that he did this work near the beginning of his time at CBUT:

Ah, Yes... The old Tele-cine slides...

And even earlier than black and white and colour slides and 16mm film and quad videotape there were: Art cards on an easel, shot with the studio camera and the balop machine, pieces of glass with photos taped to them and put into a rotatable four slot wheel to be shot by the telecine camera.
Early TV was a blast, no teleprompters, no green screen, live camera people, cable pullers and floor directors and lighting directors, switchers, audio people, artists, set designers and builders (mostly out of cardboard,) costumers, make up people, engineers, still and film photographers and film processors and editors plus all the support staff, writers, producers, secretaries, script people and many more.
Nowadays, there are no real sets, just computer generated dreck over a green screen, robocams, automated lighting and your master control room is in another city many kilometres away.
Thanks for the memories of those long ago days when many creative people produced the incredible images we saw on our first TV's.

Yes Jon thanks for the memories, certainly remember seeing some of these on 60s CBUT TV in Vancouver. Great to see them again! Makes me think of some of the great local programming CBUT 2 Vancouver did when I was a kid. Some pretty good childrens programs and also the weather with Bob Fortune! I liked his outdoor tv show Klahanie I think it was called. Interesting stuff, had not seen them for many years, thanks again for posting it Jon!

jon - thanks for posting these! After all these years, I can now appreciate how artistic these slides really were! I had hoped to see the rarest CBUT ID slide of all: a slide that read 'CBUT-1 with a "9" instead of a "2" for a logo. My recollection of these is from school summer holidays, checking for sporadic-E (Es) DX on local channel 2 before afternoon CBUT sign-on. The ONLY time I recall the "9" slide being broadcast was at sign-on when they did a full ID with address, TX location etc and their 'rebroadcaster' in Courtenay. They'd open with one of the "2" ID slides, then switch to "9"

Can I assume then that the numbers on this slide are channel numbers of repeaters?

jon - I wondered the same thing but don't remember that particular slide. I'm talking about a specific slide that had the ID "CBUT-1" and a "9" inside the ' TV screen ' and would have run in the mid-1960's

Are you sure they aren't lottery numbers?
