CJNS was basically a repeater of CJNB in North Battleford but had some local programming.

Very true. But CJNS has always had local programming. From the history I know, when the station started in 1977, CJNS just had 4 hours of local programming a day which eventually grew to 7 hours a day and now CJNS runs 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Still more live programming than some much larger stations out there.
