Is that Bob Hutton on the first one?

Hearing the third one, I can hear all those great newscasters on 'NW of that day; Warren Barker, John McKitrick, Mauri Hesketh, John Ashbridge and so many more.

I think its Bob on the first one

The later Jetfast sounds a little off but is probably him as well

I am unclear of the ballsy voice that is second in sequence

Some of the intros were used extensively for sports intros and when I heard them I think of Big Al the Kiddies Pal - patron saint of fly fishermen.

The first Jet Fast News could be Hutton, but maybe Jim Cox?

Cox is the voice on the second Jet Fast News.

The second to last (90's - 2000's) is Jim Conrad

The 3 bonger with "This Is The News" is I believe Red Alex (sp) from CJOB in Winnipeg .

It's the same guy on both, so it'd be Jim Cox then. Thanks.

I think the first one is Bob but I could be wrong.

I shall check with Ashbridge who is my expert reference on the
early days (the BB period) Before Bennest

This confirms radiofan and his incredible memory for details I forget in my old age.

JCB:
I believe:

The first (and last) intro from the “Jet Fast” era is Jim Cox.

The second three-tone intro with voice is Red Alix from CJOB/Winnipeg. We (CKNW) did an identical intro for ‘OB, voiced by Hal Davis. Later, we (both) dropped the “This Is The News” and went strictly with the three tones, later done on a synthesizer. The “whoop, whoop, whoop” bulletin sounder was created by Dick Abbott.

The third news intro is - obviously - voiced by Jim Conrad.

You could undoubtedly confirm this by checking with Dick A. or Warren B.

A further update on the various NW News intros from Brian Antonson..

Ted:

Just got around to listening to the various CKNW news intros you posted. Indeed, the first was voiced by Hutton, the last was voiced by Jim Cox. The middle one..."bong Bong BONG...'THIS is the NEWS'" was voiced by Cliff Gardner of CJOB in Winnipeg. Folks mention Red Alix, who was the morning man there, but Red had a rather higher pitched and lighter voice. This was done by Cliff, longtime program director there. I worked for a brief time at CJOB in 1970, and knew both Red and Cliff, and knew that Cliff had voiced that one in the mid-60s. It was running before I joined NW in 1967, and ran until I was production director in 1974, when we introduced a newer version, sans Cliff's voice. About ten years...a pretty good run for a news intro....
