One of the early AM to FM conversions on Vancouver Island was CKEG 1570 (used to be CHUB) becoming 102.3 The Wave . .CKWV ... here's some 1995 sounds ...

Actually, CHUB never became CKEG. CHUB went directly to becoming CKWV upon moving to FM while CKEG moved from 1350 to take over CHUB's old 1570 frequency for a few years before CKEG's move to FM to become CHWF.
