Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

I think that one is from 1961, possibly early 62. There was an even earlier one from 1960 which I can still hear in my mind but there's no way I can describe it. You wouldn't happen to have something that meets that non-description would you? :)

What a bunch of noise. What's with the horns? Did CFUN take two intros and slap them on top of each other?

CFUN News Call

Postby arthurdent » Sat Jul 26, 2008 6:10 pm

An earlier one from the late 50's/early 60's was lifted from the Seahunt TV show theme ('Airless' Lloyd Bridges was the star). Similarly, CKWX scooped a wee bit of Percy Faith's "El Rancho Grande" for its news intro and CJOR, when I was there, grabbed something from some obscure LP.

Now, newsrooms have to pay for the rights to use even a little snippet of music in their newscasts, and fill out pain-in-the-ass CAPAC Week-type lists like when I was jocking.
