At 1:04PM on February 4, 2011 Edmonton's CFMG 104.9 dropped it's long-time E-Z Rock identity and became Virgin Radio 1049
Here's the end of E-Z Rock and the launch of Virgin
Virgin 1049 Launch
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

So what's the format? Mainstream CHR, CHR-Rhythmic, Hot AC-CHR? It's gotten to a point in my old age now that this type of music all sounds the same to me and I can't differentiate between it anymore.

Same launch as Virgin 985...
So many stations with the same format. Terrestrial radio isn't dying... It's dead already. The target age for these formats are the age group that have moved on to other technologies and could care less what is on FM. Basically anyone under 35.
