Maybe ... but for industry folk only.
To my ears, if you're going after the same crowd with virtually the same music, if you diss your competition you diss your audience.
Kinda like spitting into the wind and having it blow back in your face.
I was expecting more from the Yerxa crowd.
From their app (paraphrased):
- 70% of the music proposed for NEW-FM is not currently being played on any station in Edmonton.
- NEW-FM would be live 24/7 with no voice tracking, and they confidently see a 4.0 share out of the box, settling at a 6. Local programming would make up all 126 hours of the broadcast week.
We'll see ... but it seems to me that if your fracture the Bounce audience in two, existing stations (Capital FM and JOE who both scored high in the summer book) will benefit in terms of relative share.
And there are three more stations to come!
