Looks like Q-107 has found a music mix that works. Its "Great Hits and Real Classic Rock" playlist and the addition of announcers Chris Foord (formerly with C-JAY) and Cameron Sullivan seems to have attracted a nice bump in audience numbers.
Good book for X 92.9 as the new guard build on what the originals like Roger Kingkade and Fraser Tuff established. There's been a fair bit of shuffling of on air staff over the last few months and the changes appear to be working. Can't recall X besting C-JAY before this.
The addition of Danielle Smith (former Wild Rose Party leader) on a try-out in Dave Taylor's former time slot on News Talk 770 should be interesting. I'm looking forward to hearing Danielle on the air and hope she's given a fair shot and some coaching and time to grow into the role.
Is the death watch on for Jack FM in Calgary? The new afternoon host, Alex Hindmarch, may want to familiarize himself with the story of the revolving door of PM drive jocks - Beesley, Dug Joy, Tim Schutz (think he left on his own to go the River 107 FM in Lethbridge) and Jeff Walker along with the station's history of running jock-less in that shift.
Still miss classic country on AM 1060, especially in AM Stereo.
