Recognizing that 12+ aren't the numbers that matter . . .
The Calgary Eyeopener lost its long time host which may have impacted CBC Radio Calgary's numbers. Sportsnet 960 the Fan also lost their morning show host and the Flames weren't playing during the ratings period.
Guessing that CHQR's number skew older.
Been a long time since 107.3 FM in Calgary had a number like that. Maybe back to the Power 107 days?
Christian Hall's work at JACK Calgary hasn't yet proven successful. Maybe the jukebox works better than the new midday and afternoon shows with former X 92.9 staff. Still stand by my earlier caution about taking those two shifts at that station in Calgary as there isn't a history of long-term job security.
Rogers' other FM station, Star 95.9, is still finding its way. New branding, new morning show, etc. Mookie Wilson's now teaching at SAIT.
Bell's Virgin Radio seems to have recovered some of its past lost ground.
Time to make AMP a Breeze station?
Pattison's Today Radio and Rawlco's C-97.7 aren't growing, with what seems to be a lot of shared on air presentation strategies. Rawlco likely would have fared better sticking with Soft Rock.
Harvard's X92.9 continues to hum along even with Christian Hall taking on air talent away with him to Rogers.
Would like to see how Wild and Country 105 compare in the 18 to 49 numbers. Still think Wild is stupid branding. As Mayor Jyoti Gondek says "Calgary is Canada's third most diverse city . . ." This ain't "cowtown" and sure as sh*t ain't the wild west, either.
Always appreciate fellow Radiowest member Aaron's take as they have insightful comments and data.
