Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

What a sad sign-of-the-times how Edmonton's current top-share station - CKRA 96.3 'The Breeze', is actually voiced by a majority of non-local residents V.T.'d in from elsewhere (I suspect most likely G.T.A.) with morning host Sean Burke being the most recognizable live, in-person 'local' in the schedule. Tanya Vee (afternoons) is also local.

Take a peek at T.O.'s "Boom 97.3" weekend announcer lineup:

...and note the familiar faces listed at Edmonton's "The Breeze"

Drew, Stacey and Lea are also listed at both remaining "Breeze" outlets - 104.3 Vancouver and 96.5 Halifax.

Isn't the current top share for The Breeze really just the Christmas Music? The Breeze will come back to earth in the next book like they did last year. Stingray seems to be doing the voice track personalities from other markets more than anyone. Unfortunately a format like The Breeze sort of lends itself to voice tracking (not drive times) but certainly on weekends and evenings. I know the Breeze in Vancouver hasn't caught on as well as Edmonton even though the programming and music is mostly similar. Many in Vancouver still prefer the old format on LG104.3 and haven't warmed up to the mellower sounds of The Breeze. And the ratings in Vancouver as we know have been fairly flat. I still maintain that the Breeze needs to open up their music, it is too predictable and there is a lot of music they are not playing. Too repetitive, too many of the same artists, and not just the cancon.
