Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Recently scoring almost identical numbers, UP and Capital-FM are now separated by almost two full SHARE points.

Virgin has grown almost exactly double the 0.8 SHARE they stole from The Bounce.

CISN-FM is way down from their lofty ratings heights with no clear destination for the Contemporary Country listeners they lost. It looks really bad when you compare year to year, since this same ratings period last year was their highest point in a very long time. A 3.2 SHARE drop, year to year.

The change in the CBX morning team came too late to show in the ratings. The usual confusion before a newly tooled morning show is not showing in these ratings though, with the highest numbers overall for quite a while.

Lite is the hardest number to read. Is the slight growth a sign of possible future success or has the Christmas music been playing long enough to start the "December Bounce"?

There was some head scratching over bringing in someone from Fort McMurray radio, but that is also a very tough market, especially the last few years when the economy was in such trouble. It says something when you succeed in that kind of environment.

I forgot to mention JOE-FM's "road to recovery", up 1.2 since last quarter. I hope new PD Greg Johnson has a ratings bonus clause in his contract.

As HowAboutThat has mentioned in another thread, lots of interesting numbers to look at here:
http://hennessyandbray.com/articles/bbm ... s-dec-2011

Some examples: Lite actually went DOWN among 25-54 year old males, from 1.9 to 1.4 since the last quarterly PPMs. They saw almost double that loss number as a gain among 25-54 females, from 2.6 to 3.5.

UP lost big among 25-54 males, more than two full points, from 7.2 to 5.1. Despite its good growth overall, Capital-FM actually lost 0.3 among 24-54 males.

CBX saw no growth among 25-54 males, but listenership among 25-54 females grew from 4.9 to 6.5.

And, I know you can't compare one market's SHARE with another, but CBU Vancouver only scores a 3.4 among 25-54 year old women, while CBX is at a 6.5, despite CBU scoring a 10.2 overall (2 years old and up) to CBX's 6.7.
