I see some News1130 folks tweeting that they have the #1 morning show in Vancouver with adults 25-54.
Houston, We're dealing with morons!.

It's hard to tell by these 2+ numbers but CBC am seems to have had a stellar book.

I imagine there is some consternation over at Team/TSN 1040. The year-over-year numbers don't look good.

Have to agree with the Canucks on a roll the station should be rating a lot higher than it is. I assume its because the remainder of the shows are rating high on the snooze meter. Pratt is annoying in the mornings and pretty well everything he says doesn't pan out so don't put your money on it. Bro Jake has to change some of his skits as they are very predictable and the Moj needs to stop talking about junk food as I get the feeling that's all the guy eats not to mention that people are tuning in for Sportstalk and not cheap useless talk. Then again the morning show can go on forever talking about wine and wacko news which has nothing to do with sports.

If there are any shining stars it would be guys like Sekeres and Taylor but the others might need a shuffling of the decks.

The Million Dollar Morning Man over at Sonic sure scored (not).

Changes? Who knows?

As for 1040?

Good gravy, the numbers are, at first blush, pretty weak.

Would someone care to explain how best to interpret these tables? I'm thinking that the only logical way to look at the data is year over year numbers, i.e. looking at the same quarter. Surely there is nothing terribly useful to be drawn from successive quarter comparisons, e.g. fall vs. summer. And where does one find the age breakdowns?

I may be reading this wrong but comparing CBC Radio 1's huge 12+ numbers to their smaller 25 to 54 numbers seems to show that half their audience is over 54.

Hence the uselessness of 12+ or 2+ numbers.
The Peak rates well above CBC in the 25-54.
The money demo is all that matters.

Well, to commercial stations anyway. 12+ is relevant for CBC.

0+ is relevant to the CBC.

Especially Radio One where there are no commercials to sell.

What I dont get is why is CBC Radio even in the mix. Are they paying money to Numeris to be measured? If so why waste taxpayer dollars if they dont sell ads.

This all started in the Sixties when the CBC realized that the Trudeau government was more inclined to provide funding for the CBC if it could show that it had more than a minimal number of listeners.

The Radio Wars are going to get really interesting now. This is Christmas, and do you hear a ton of Christmas ads? I was in London Drugs today and it was a GHOST TOWN. SO, it follows retail sales in Media, suck.
