I suggest taking the apostrophe from "it's", and using it as part of a semi-colon after "1000,000 watts".

Just to clarify Yoshi's posting. The hearing to be held on November 7th involves an application by the CBC to flip CKSB 1050 AM to 88.1 FM in Winnipeg. The existing Premiere Chaine service on 90.5 is a nested repeater for CKSB 1050 and will be shut down if the application is approved.

As for Golden West's application for a Country station on 88.5 in Steinbach.....I have a feeling the common ownership will come into play here as Golden West already owns an FM in Steinbach and 2 FM's in Winnipeg (only 35 miles from Steinbach).

Depending on how you measure, from City limits or Downtown, Camrose is 35-45 miles from Edmonton, yet is considered a different market by the CRTC. Newcap is allowed to own an FM in Camrose, two FMs in Edmonton, an AM in Wetaskiwin (25 to 35 miles from Edmonton and 15 miles from Camrose), and an AM licensed to both Camrose and Edmonton. And this is not a case of Grandfathering, as the FM in Camrose was newly licensed less than 10 years ago at 50,000 watts.

I suspect Golden West is well aware of that fact, and thinks it sets a precedent for them for Steinbach and Winnipeg.
