The CBC has applied to move Premiere Chaine services in Windsor from 540 AM to 1550 AM, increase power from 2,500 watts days/5,000 watts nights to 10,000 watts fulltime, and relocate the transmitter site to the facilities of the former CBE 1550 Windsor which flipped to 97.5 FM in September, 2011.
In conjunction with this application the CBC has also applied for a new Premiere Chaine service to be located in Sarnia, Ontario at 98.3 with 2,320 watts to make up for projected signal deficiencies in the Sarnia area if the application to move CBEF 540 to 1550 is approved.
It is unclear at this point whether the previously approved CBEF 540 nested repeater on 105.5 in Windsor will still go ahead.
