Rogers Expands Its Multilingual NHL Content to Radio with Launch of Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition on 101.7 World FM

Offering Punjabi-speaking Edmonton audiences more access to the action, OMNI Television’s Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition will air live on Rogers Radio station 101.7 World FM every Saturday at 8 p.m. MT beginning January 31, in addition to streaming live on http://www.worldfm.ca.

World FM will carry the second game in the doubleheader each Saturday night during the regular season, with the kick-off broadcast featuring the Edmonton Oilers at the Calgary Flames. Currently, Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition airs on OMNI Television.

In addition to the Punjabi edition of Hockey Night in Canada, World FM will also carry OMNI Television’s Your Hockey and Hockey 101 on their robust lineup of programs in languages including Arabic, Cantonese, Hindi, Italian, Mandarin, Polish, Punjabi, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog (Filipino), Ukrainian, and Urdu. Plus, audiences can watch this content on http://www.worldfm.ca.

Your Hockey features relevant and informative topics such as grassroots hockey, how to buy hockey equipment, the ins-and-outs of minor hockey, as well as profiles of hockey-related personalities in the community. And, Hockey 101 helps new Canadians better understand the basic principles of hockey and commonly-used terms on the ice.

World FM is proud to broadcast the time-honoured tradition Hockey Night in Canada in Punjabi every Saturday night. Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition will air at 8pm each week during the regular season, and marks the first time this Canadian institution will be available on radio to the Punjabi-speaking community!
