Big changes 660 News Calgary

Cuts and dismissals in Calgary at 660 News. The station seems to be taking a turn for the worse by going with a more national broadcast. If you listen weekends there is virtually no local news... a few short stories every 10 minutes mixed in with traffic and weather. Mike Blanchard (mornings) was let go along with Michele Yee (afternoons). Even daily weekday broadcasts have been trimmed to only 15 minutes of local news per hour, with a national cast picking up the second half of each hour. It will be interesting to see if these are just the beginnings of the trimmings.

Vancouver (1130) is a national cast -- noticed that on Saturday as well . There was a time where I worked for that once proud station.

I listen to them both (1130 booms in at night) and wow have they gone downhill. Few on air staff, and what there is seems to be right out of high school. Sad state of affairs.
