From the RadioWest aircheck archives -

On Monday, March 9, 1992 "The Spirit of Radio" 800 CKST (CJJC/CJUP) moved to 1040 (CIOF/CKXY/CIMA) for an improved 50,000 watt Vancouver licensed frequency leaving behind its former Langley licensed frequency. Studios moved to the Coal Harbour area of Vancouver.

The Countdown to 1040 is in two segments. The morning show with JB Shayne, Jacqui Underwood and April Dunn on Coast 800, followed by Shadow Stevens and James Morrison that same afternoon on Coast 1040 -

The station is now known as Funny 1040.

Fans of Coast 800/1040 have a tribute page on Facebook for a station they describe as "Commercial Radio's Happy Fluke" -

I distinctly remember as a 7-year-old tuning around the dial around this time, and hearing some stunting on 1040. Music intersperced with announcements to tune in Tuesday morning at 10:40. Must have been the last week of February, as I weirdly recall that UBC professors were also on strike that week; my younger brother attended a preschool run by the university, and I found it profoundly unfair that I still had to go to school. It was a worthy attempt, but Coast 1040 was gone by October 1, 1993 in favour of Adult Standards, which is a whole other story...

Ah yes Magic 104 with the "morning muffin" Bob Dawson. I believe it was the last Vancouver home for Pat Burns' show and Larry King.
