CBU Vancouver - Mark Forsythe - 1992

Mark Forsythe in late February 1992 on CBC Radio Vancouver with a Wednesday afternoon edition of BC Almanac. Bob Sharples updates the provincial news while Rick Cluff updates the sports. Lorna Jackson is at the national news desk.

Mark's first radio job was at CFBV Smithers in 1974. He later joined CBC Radio Prince Rupert in 1984, helped establish a CBC bureau in Kelowna and joined CBC Vancouver in 1989, hosting CBC Radio current affairs programs, including BC Almanac for 18 years.

He taught Writing for the Media at BCIT for 10 years and retired from the CBC in 2015. He is a recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award from the Radio & Television News Directors Association.

This wasn't BC Almanac, but "The Afternoon Show" prior to the show being given that name). At the time, Almanac was hosted by Lucy McNeil, who would leave for China at the end of the year. I loved those early '90s CBC news sounders.
